This scheme has been introduced to assist with the costs associated with childbirth, including nutritious food and medical expenses, for women construction workers or the wives of male laborers in Gujarat.

Rules of Shramyogi Prasuti Sahai Yojana

• “The benefits of this scheme are available to construction workers registered with the Labor and Other Construction Labor Welfare Board in Gujarat.
• Under the Shramyogi Susuti Sahay Yojana, financial assistance is provided directly to the applicant’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This support is extended even in cases where a woman has suffered a miscarriage.
• In instances of stillbirth, the applicant must present a certificate from a doctor at a primary health center. Note that this benefit is available only if the birth occurs before or during the 26th week of pregnancy.
• Applications for assistance under this scheme must be submitted within six months from the date of conception. Pre-maternity financial assistance of Rs 17,500 is provided to registered women construction workers and must be claimed within six months after conception.
• Additionally, the application should be submitted to the relevant office within six months from the probable delivery date, as certified by a doctor or primary health center. The application must be accompanied by a copy of the doctor’s certificate or Mamta card and should be submitted on time to ensure eligibility for the benefits.”

Benefits of Yojana

• “If the wife of a construction worker registered with the Shramyogi Kalyan Board, she is eligible to receive a benefit of Rs 6,000.
